Tara assisting a bride
Â
Originally from Long Island, NY Tara found, fell in love with and moved to Jim Thorpe in October 2008. She quickly became very involved in the local community and joined the board of the Mauch Chunk Historical Society (2009-2011). Through her involvement in the community, she helped organize and market many not-for-profit events like the First Annual Jim Thorpe Burlesque Festival and the Victorian Heritage Festival.  Within those experiences she discovered her talent and love for organizing and marketing events, both large and small, and Jim Thorpe Weddings & Events was born.
Tara brings a vast amount of skills and experiences to her wedding planning business from sales and negotiation as a top selling Realtor on the North Shore of Long Island, to her relationship building skills as a former executive assistant, and her marketing and internet knowledge .  In addition to her corporate experience, she spent many years working for various high end catering facilities on the North Shore and East End of Long Island including ; The Huntington Harbor Club, Art of Eating in the Hamptons (specialized in remote on location weddings & events) and The Floral Terrace in Floral Park, NY. Through her years behind the scenes at these facilities, she learned the ins and outs of weddings from every aspect and brings that knowledge and experience to every wedding and event she plans.Â
Always ambitious and growing, Tara is currently completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and is currently a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
